Traffic Operation in Limburg
The Lanaken-Maasmechelen police zone intercepted an 8-year-old child riding an electric scooter during a comprehensive traffic operation. According to Belgian law, the minimum age for operating an electric scooter is 16 years. This incident highlights the need for increased attention to traffic rules regarding new modes of transport and the safety of young road users. During the controls, a total of 390 drivers were checked, and 5 motorists had to immediately surrender their driving licenses, as reported by VRT NWS.
