The award ceremony for the Ballon d'Or takes place tonight, Sporza reports. The voting process decides who succeeds Ousmane Dembélé and Aitana Bonmati on the prestigious roll of honour.
Rules of the international voting panel
The award relies on a jury of specialised sport journalists chosen from leading footballing nations worldwide. Each designated voter ranks their top performers based on the sporting year's collective and individual achievements. Although the final outcomes are determined well before the gala begins, the results remain sealed until the live announcements.
Belgium's ballot at the ceremony
Belgium is represented by a single accredited journalist who casts the sole Belgian vote in the poll. The exact breakdown of the Belgian ballot and the distribution of points across the candidates will be disclosed by the organisers once the ceremony concludes.
